P Series Pickup, the first global pickup brand in China, is set to compete head-on with Toyota, Ford and other global mainstream pickup brands, and help GWM achieve the “1-2-3” pickup-focused strategy, namely, to maintain the dominant place in terms of domestic and export sales; to realize annual sales of 200,000 units by 2020; and to reach cumulative global sales topping 3 million units by 2025.

The popularity of the P Series pickups requires a strong production capability to GWM's Chongqing plant. Located in Yongchuan District of Chongqing, the smart factory is the automaker's fifth full-process vehicle manufacturing base worldwide. With a planned capacity of 160,000 vehicles per year, it mainly produces “P” series pickups, Haval-branded SUV and other models, and will extend to new energy vehicles in the future.

GWM is accelerating the forming of its “9+5” global production system. After completing its Tula plant in Russia in June, the automaker held in past two months the groundbreaking ceremonies for its complete vehicle production bases in Pinghu and Taizhou.

Besides, the company is also building a global R&D system covering Japan, the U.S., Germany, India, Austria and Korea with Hebei's Baoding as the headquarters (photo source: Great Wall Motor).
