Shanghai (ZXZC)- On March 6, JAC Yiwei, a new energy vehicle sub-brand under JAC Group, held a signing ceremony in Hefei city for 1,000 new energy vehicles set to be deployed in the public transport sector, with deliveries kicking off at the same time.

Notably, the vehicles newly delivered are part of the company's significant initiative that aims to deploy 10,000 new energy vehicles for public transport service.

In the realm of public transportation, a comprehensive shift towards electrification is gaining momentum. Recently, eight government departments of China, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Transport, issued a notice titled "Notification on Organizing Pilot Projects for Comprehensive Electrification of Public Sector Vehicles." This directive explicitly outlines the accelerated advancement of comprehensive electrification for public transport vehicles, including taxis (both patrol and app-based) in pilot areas.

Public sector vehicles, characterized by their significant quantity and high availability for pilot application, play a pivotal role in fostering energy conservation, emission reduction, and accelerating the construction of a green and low-carbon transportation system. This initiative is advantageous not only for promoting environmental sustainability but also holds paramount significance in reducing external dependence on petroleum and ensuring energy security.
