SAIC MAXUS sees Wuxi base’s 1 millionth vehicle roll off line
Shanghai (ZXZC)- A momentous occasion unfolded at the SAIC MAXUS Wuxi Base as its 1 millionth vehicle, a SAIC MAXUS Territory ("Lingdi" in Chinese Pinyin) SUV, came off the assembly line on March 6, according to a press release from SAIC MAXUS.

Established as the first enterprise in Huishan District of Wuxi city to record an annual output value exceeding 10 billion yuan, SAIC MAXUS' Wuxi Base has maintained an impressive compound growth rate of 55% over the past 13 years. Its diverse product lineup, spanning light-duty commercial vehicles, MPVs, pickups, SUVs, and new energy vehicles, has found its way to 73 countries and regions worldwide, according to the automaker.
Notably, in the year of 2023 alone, the Wuxi base witnessed the production volume of 163,000 vehicles, generating an output value of 18 billion yuan with a 6% year-on-year growth. Meanwhile, the overseas sales reached 84,000 units, constituting over 54% of its total sales, marking a significant dual leap in both domestic and international markets.
Currently, SAIC MAXUS' Wuxi base is swiftly progressing with the implementation of projects related to the production, R&D, and equipment upgrade for new energy vehicles and the GST series products. The inaugural model from these projects is slated for production in the latter half of this year, further solidifying SAIC MAXUS' commitment to innovation and sustainability.
