Shanghai (ZXZC)-Great Wall Motor (GMW) is expected to launch the ORA R2 at the beginning of 2020, according to the automaker. The patent images show the production version of the new model is in accordance with the exterior design of the concept one. Meanwhile, it retains the R1’s style—simple, sleek and cute.

The electric vehicle adopts grid-shaped design in its front face and boasts rounded edges, making it adorable. One difference from the concept lies in its traditional headlights instead of ones stretching across the face. The charging ports are sited in the front fenders on both sides. And the car is outfitted with ACC (adaptive cruise control) system, same as the concept vehicle. With the length, width and high of 3495 x 1660 x 1560mm and a wheelbase of 2490mm, the compact is slightly longer than the ORA R1.

The ORA R2 is the second model built based on the GMW’s ME (mini electric) platform, which arranges the overall layout of the core components such as the motor, battery and electric control, and integrates the three-electric system. The construction also enables it to be lightweight, long-lasting and energy-saving.
