NIO deploys 2,379 battery swap stations across China as of Feb. 2024

Shanghai (ZXZC)- NIO, a prominent player in China's new energy vehicle (NEV) field, newly deployed 17 battery swapping stations, as well as 41 electric vehicle charging stations with 213 charging piles across China in the month of Feb. 2024, the company announced today via its WeChat account.

By the end of Feb. this year, NIO has already deployed 2,379 battery swapping stations nationwide, 777 units of which are located along expressways. Besides, the company has accumulated building of 3,719 charging stations with 21,634 charging piles around the country, with 358 stations and 1,406 charging piles built for expressway services.

Moreover, NIO revealed that it has had access to over 1 million third-party charging piles as of Feb. 2024.

The company also forecasted a cumulative deployment volume of more than 3,310 battery swapping stations and over 41,000 charging piles across China by the end of this year.

On February 26, 2024, China Southern Power Grid Peak Regulation and Frequency Modulation (Guangdong) Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. ("CGS Energy Storage Tech"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Southern Power Grid ("CSG"), and NIO Energy Investment (Hubei) Co., Ltd. ("NIO Energy"), signed a framework cooperation agreement in Guangzhou, marking a strategic alliance between the two entities.

The partners will also explore the construction of electric stations to promote their commercial application as distributed energy storage.
