Hongqi E115 to make its domestic debut at Auto Guangzhou
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Hongqi, a brand under China's state-owned automaker FAW Group, will showcase its concept model—the large-sized all-electric SUV code-named E115—at the forthcoming Auto Guangzhou 2019, according to the Chinese luxury brand.
The new model, having made its debut at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, adopts fire-new iconic design language with a noticeable front face. Enclosed intake grille is outlined by LED light bars, and the logo, lied at the center of the head, features sleek and minimalist design.
The two sides of the front body kit boast an exaggerated style via the usage of LED strip lights as well. The small-sized rear-view mirrors may be outfitted with cameras to replace conventional large mirrors, representing a futuristic sense.
The SUV features muscular side profile with chrome-plated C and D pillars. Full LED taillight clusters stretching across the rear go downward at the end when extending to the two sides, making the EV look more sporty.
The all-electric model is able to offer a range of 600 kilometers (373 miles) with seven driving modes to choose from. The automaker also said the AWD (all-wheel-drive) SUV could sprint from 0 to 100 km/h within 4 seconds. Another highlight is its air suspension system.
In October, Hongqi achieved its highest-ever monthly sales with 11,880 vehicles sold in total, an impressive year-on-year growth of 188%. As of October, the premium auto brand has seen its sales volume exceed 10,000 units for three consecutive months.
Besides, year-to-date sales of Hongqi-branded vehicles skyrocketed 217% from the year-ago period to 75,520 units, completing 75.52% of the 100,000-unit annual sales goal (photo source: FAW Hongqi).
