The production version of the new Peugeot 308 sedan launched today at the Chengdu Auto Show and it will be launched on the Chinese car market on September 25; price will start at 108.000 and ens at 160.000 yuan.

The Peugeot 308 is a China-only sedan manufactured by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture.

There will be two engines: a 1.2 turbo ‘Pure Tech’ with 136hp and 230nm, and a 1.6 with 117hp and 150nm. The 1.2 turbo will be designated ‘230THP’, the 1.6 ‘150THP’. The 1.2 turbo will be mated to a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic, the 1.6 will be five-speed manual only.

The 308 is based on the PSA EMP2 platform.

Size: 4590/1820/1488, and wheelbase is 2675.

Dash is hip with an instrument panel located high up, a mid-sized touch screen, and a busy center tunnel with a clearly marked, in red!, cigarette lighter.

Much better without that babe! Love the line from mid headlight to the lower bumper. Nice car. Will compete in a very crowded segment, but surely has a chance.
