SouEast DX3 SUV Debuts On the Chengdu Auto Show In China
The new SouEast DX3 has been launched on the Chengdu Auto Show in China. Oddly, they had only one car on show, with the locked doors and darkened windows. We know the car is ready, but SouEast probably wants to do the full unveil when the DX3 launches on the Chinese car market in November.
It has become a fine looking car, designed by Pininfarina of Italy. D-pillar with floating roof is by now the standard look for new Chinese compact SUVs. They all have it.
There will be two engines, sourced from Mitsubishi: a 1.5 with 120hp and a 1.5 turbo with 150hp. The 1.5 will be mated to a five-speed manual or a CVT. The 1.5 turbo will likely get a six-speed automatic, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Size: 4354/1840/1654, and wheelbase is 2610.
Peice will start around 65.000 and end around 90.000 yuan
The interior was barely visible. Seat still in plastic. This seems to be a manual ‘box. Two cup holders. A manual parking brake. Screen is not very big. Air vents however are huge.
The interior as seen on an earlier spy shot, with the CVT.
Line over the sides continues on the rear. Lights are sleek. Big black bumper with a gray skid pad. Roof rails are usable. Wheel arches in black to mask the tiny tiny wheels.
Front looks great with a big SouEast badge, shiny bars, LED lights, and a racy lower bumper.
