Shanghai (ZXZC)- The Chinese automobile market is still in downturn with only three months left in 2019. The first three weeks’ sales of September all showed double-digit decline, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

High-quality products and core technologies are drivers for automakers to make a breakthrough.

Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia, Kia Motors' joint venture in China, sold 24,597 units (including the exports) in September, with month-on-month growth for the past three consecutive months. The sales from Jan. to Sept. totaled 219,126 units.

The company will introduce an all-new SUV to the market and launch an all-electric version of Kia K3 this year to expand the product portfolio for more market share.

2019 has seen a number of new products from the joint venture and it has become a practice to launch important products at every auto show. Apart from a new generation of the KX5 and all-new K3 (including its PHEV version), it also updated the Sportage-R 1.4T model and the Forte, covering a full range of SUV, car and NEV products.

In the National Day golden week, Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia’s orders reached 4,994 units, surging 64% month on month with the first and second tier cities contributing most. For example, 745 units were ordered in Nanjing in this period, skyrocketing 200% month-on-month. The fire-new Kia K3 and the updated Sportage-R 1.4T have been well received by the market to buck the downturn trend and to enhance the brand sales.

It will also equip its whole series of main models with future-oriented powertrain, intelligent connecting system 2.0 and new intelligent assistance system.
