Shanghai (ZXZC)- On December 20, Chinese automaker SERES Group and power battery titan CATL officially sealed an agreement to comprehensively deepen their strategic cooperation, according to a post on SERES Group's WeChat account.

This accord outlines a profound collaboration encompassing super-fast charging technology, battery safety, integrated development of "vehicle, battery, and charging," and the utilization of big data. Together, the companies aim to expand their overseas footprint, jointly driving innovation in battery technology and a globalized strategic layout. As part of this collaboration, CATL commits to providing high-quality battery products for SERES Group's AITO series vehicles, emphasizing long-term cooperation in new product development, the application of new technologies, and the integration of novel materials.

SERES Group said it is committed to the in-house development of key new energy vehicle technologies, and has made notable breakthroughs in battery, electric motor, electric control unit technologies, range extender, electrical/electronic architecture, and the DE-i super electric-drive intelligent technology platform. It poured a total of 3.106 billion yuan in R&D businesses through 2022. As of today, its cumulative investment in core R&D of the AITO series vehicles, the high-end intelligent new energy vehicle products co-developed with Huawei, has already exceeded 12 billion yuan.
