(Beijing, September 24, 2019) – Didi Chuxing (“DiDi”), the world’s leading multi-modal transportation platform, today announced that its English language interface in China, DiDi English (“DiDi EN”), has served more than 2 million users across 430 cities in China over the past two years.
Since its launch in 2017, DiDi EN has grown 16 times in terms of total user volume. Expat riders can choose from four transportation options, including Express, Taxi, Premier and Luxe. “User-friendly” and “Convenient” are the top keywords that riders use to describe DiDi EN’s service, followed by “Safe” and “Affordable”, contributing to over 9 million four-and-five-star rated trips on the DiDi EN platform.
More than half of DiDi EN’s users are concentrated in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta. The top five cities with the most DiDi EN users are Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu. In the past two years, DiDi EN users have traveled over 360 million kilometers, the equivalent of 937 trips between the earth and moon.
It is estimated that over 1 million expats work and live in China, the country that will become the world’s No.1 tourist destination by 2030 with 127 million visitors each year, according to Euromonitor International.
While expecting more and more international users on our platform, DiDi EN will continue to upgrade and diversify its products and features in order to better serve the diverse needs of the fast-growing international communities in China.
