Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chinese new energy vehicle maker XPeng today announced via its Sina Weibo account that the XPeng X9 MPV model will hit the market on the New Year's Day of 2024 (January 1, 2024).

This revelation comes after the XPeng X9 made its debut at the Auto Guangzhou 2023, where the automaker announced its presale price started at 388,000 yuan. Impressively, within the first 48 hours of opening pre-orders for the X9, the company received around 8,000 orders.

As the Auto Guangzhou approached its conclusion, XPeng internally raised the delivery target for the X9 from "2,000 units per month" to "3,000 units per month."

Distinguished as the world's only MPV equipped with rear-wheel steering, the X9 boasts a minimal turning diameter in its segment (10.8 meters), eliminating the unwieldy feel often associated with traditional MPVs. In low-speed scenarios such as straight-line turns, low-speed maneuvers, and parallel parking, the rear wheels rotate in the opposite direction, enhancing driving composure and reducing steering input. At high speeds, the reverse rotation of the rear wheels allows for more agile obstacle avoidance, optimizing lateral sway response control. Furthermore, during lane changes, the rear wheels turn in the same direction, enhancing steering stability.

Additionally, the XPeng X9 comes standard with dual-chamber air suspension and adjustable damping shock absorbers. The air suspension offers a substantial adjustment range of 90mm (raising by 40mm or lowering by 50mm), allowing manual or automatic adjustments based on the current driving speed. Users can further tailor the suspension stiffness and damping of the shock absorbers by adjusting the driving mode to meet the demands of different road conditions.

Starting from December 8, the initial batch of display X9 vehicles have gradually arrived at XPeng's sales stores in 61 cities across China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Haikou, and Shijiazhuang.
