Don’t twist your Neck in the new Geely Englon Haijing SC7 from China
This is a official factory photo of the infotainment system in the new Geely Englon Haijing SC7, showing the 7-inch TFT touch screen. This system, so Geely says, integrates with smartphones. And so it does, but in a fuzzy wuzzy way…
The system displays the apps in vertical mode on a horizontally-orientated screen, which will make it a real neck-twister to use. And dangerous. Basically, it isn’t useable at all. The factory photo also shows a white iPhone with the home-button oddly on the left, instead of on the right.
Zooming out for an otherwise neat interior with light colors and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
And this is the car, a cheap entry-level sedan under Geely’s Englon brand. The new grille is very Buick and the headlights don’t look so big anymore.
The outgoing Geely Englon Haijing SC7. Headlights? HEADLGHTS!
New exhaust pipe tips and new taillights. Price starts at 51.900 yuan and ends at 56.900 yuan, making the Haijing SC7 one of the cheapest sedans on the market. Engine is a 1.5 liter four with 109hp and 140nm, mated to a five-speed manual. Not a bad package for the money, but be careful with the neck.
