BAIC EU7 hits the market with post-subsidy price starting RMB159,900

Shanghai (ZXZC)- The BAIC EU7, BAIC BJEV’s all-new mid-sized sedan model, formally hit the market on September 19. With three variants offered, the new model is priced between RMB159,900 and RMB175,900 after subsidy.

Adopting BAIC’s latest design language, the new BEV model is no longer feature the formal logo, which is shaped like the Chinese character “北” , the first character of BAIC’s Chinese company name, while uses the new marque of English letters “BEIJING”.

As to the exterior, the front face gets an enclosed grille. At the junction of the grille and hood is the concave design, which is adorned with rather thick chrome trims. Besides, the C-shaped daytime running lights look quite fashionable.  

As for its side profile, the waist line, drawn from the front wheel trims, disappears into the taillight cluster, which are connected by a thick chrome-plated trim as well.   

The EU7’s interior is in black and brown colors. At the air conditioner vent, the three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, the gear selector and its surrounding zone, there are a number of chrome elements, the piano lacquer and wood grain materials can be found. In addition, it employs a conventional gear lever instead of rotated gearshift mechanism of the EU5.   

According to the information submitted to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the EU7, positioned as a mid-size vehicle, measures 4,805mm long, 1,835mm wide and 1,528mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,785mm. In terms of powertrain, it will be equipped with an electric motor that pumps out up to 160kw (218hp) and a battery pack contributing to a NEDC-rated range of 451km.
