Shanghai (ZXZC)- On December 4, FAW Jiefang, the commercial vehicle arm of FAW Group, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT. Gotion Indonesia Materials to cement their cooperation on a heavy-duty truck project, according to a post on FAW Jiefang's WeChat account.

Under the MoU, both parties intend to leverage their respective resources, expertise, and experience to establish a comprehensive and deepened partnership. The primary objective is to collaboratively develop the electric truck market in Indonesia, offering cost-effective solutions for Chinese-funded enterprises and local businesses in Indonesia. Simultaneously, they aim to join forces to advance the construction of a localized assembly line in the country, enhancing supply efficiency, reducing vehicle costs, and boosting market competitiveness.

FAW Jiefang, a leading player in China's commercial vehicle industry, boasts seven major product series encompassing tractors, cargo-bearing vehicles, dumpers, special-purpose vehicles, new energy vehicles, light-duty trucks, and buses. The company said it is strategically accelerating its presence in new energy and intelligent connected vehicle fields.

Gotion Indonesia Materials, a subsidiary of the Chinese major power battery supplier Gotion High-Tech, is committed to materials development, and design, manufacturing, and sales of battery solutions.
