BYD Han seems to be caught in spy shots
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Spy shots of BYD's all-new mid-size car model were released several days ago. Perhaps, the new model will be named “Han”.
After hitting the market, the new model is expected to compete with such China-owned medium car models as the Geely Borui GE, the Trumpchi GA6 and the Hongqi H5.
The model is still in the mid-term test. Its frame and some body components seem to be available for mass production, while the headlight & taillight clusters and other parts are still temporarily used, refusing to represent the final shape.

The new one will adopt a design language similar to the Qin Pro, including the “Dragon Face 2.0” front face and the fastback-style rear window. Besides, the waistline, drawn from the exterior angle of the headlight, disappears at the rear fender, transforming into a muscular bulging line. In addition, this new model employs the trendy “hidden” door handles, which makes it look more upscale.

In view of the groove reserved for the trunk cover, the new car is likely to use a taillight cluster that stretches across the rear end, which is also used in the all-new Tang.
The interior is also somewhat camouflaged. In light of the exposed part, the new car may feature the same electronic gear selector and the control zone as the Song Pro, but a temporary copy of existing models could be on the cards . A flat-bottomed multifunctional steering wheel from the Qin Pro is among the similar components.
Some parameters of the Han released by BYD in 2015 shows that the “Han” measures 4,950mm long, 1,890mm wide and 1,490mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,940mm.
In terms of powertrain, the front-wheel drive variant is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2.0T engine and a 150-hp front axle motor, while the three-engine four-wheel-drive one will also incorporate a rear axle motor that pumps out up to 476 hp. The acceleration from 0 to 100km/h of the three-engine four-wheel-drive version can be done within only 2.9 seconds.

At the 2019 Auto Shanghai, JuanMa Lopez, BYD's global exterior design director, said the design elements derived from its e-SEED GT concept car would be used on the Han.
