Shanghai (ZXZC)- Emphasizing a strong commitment to global growth, Deepal, the new energy vehicle (NEV) brand under Changan Automobile, plans to launch two all-new models next year, targeting a global annual sales volume of 450,000 vehicles by 2024, Deepal's CEO, Deng Chenghao, announced on Nov. 27 via his Weibo account.

Changan Automobile hosted its Southeast Asia strategy launch event in Thailand on the same day. The Deepal S07 and L07 models made their official debut and were simultaneously put onto the Thai market. Mr. Deng highlighted this as a crucial step in Deepal's global ambitions and a milestone in expanding overseas markets.

Notably, the Deepal S07, showcased earlier at the recently concluded Auto Guangzhou 2023, maintains the overall design of the Deepal S7, with adaptations for right-hand drive layouts catering to overseas markets. Manufactured in Changan's factory in Thailand, it is slated for distribution in Southeast Asia and Australia in the future.

Mr. Deng expressed Deepal's commitment to the continual development of global-oriented car models, accelerating entry into the ASEAN and European markets to address local consumers' demands for intelligent electric vehicles and provide appealing choices for eco-friendly transportation.

Launched in April 2022, Deepal is Changan's NEV-dedicated brand, boasting the core competitive edge of "super-range extension" technology. With models like the Deepal SL03 and the Deepal S7 targeting the mid-size sedan and mid-size SUV markets, the automaker achieved a significant milestone on Sept. 22, announcing the cumulative sale of over 100,000 units within just 14 months upon its first model hitting the market.
