Hyundai ix25 hits the Chinese auto market
The brand new Hyundai ix25 SUV has been launched on the Chinese car market, giving Hyundai a credible entry in the hyper competitive compact SUV market. Price starts at 119.800 yuan and ends at 179.800 yuan. The production version of the Hyundai ix25 debuted in August on the Chengdu Auto Show.
The ix25 is a China-only compact SUV. It is manufactured in China by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture to compete with cars such as the popular Ford Ecosport, the Peugeot 2008, and the Chevrolet Trax. The ix25 is based on the platform of the Kia Soul, which is made in China by the Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia joint venture.
Two four-cylinder petrol engines: a 1.6 with 123hp and 151nm, or a 2.0 with 158hp and 192nm. Both engines are mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. The 1.6 is FWD only, the 2.0 FWD or AWD.
Size: 4270mm/1780mm/1630, wheelbase is 2590.
