Hyundai ix25 will hit the Chinese car market on October 9

The brand new Hyundai ix25 SUV will be launched on the Chinese car market on October 9. Price will start around 140.000 yuan and end around 170.000 yuan. On pics a gray blue example, the very first non-orange car we see, and still looking good, although slightly less exciting. The production version of the Hyundai ix25 debuted last month on the Chengdu Auto Show.

The ix25 is a China-only compact SUV. It is manufactured in China by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture to compete with cars such as the popular Ford Ecosport and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.

The ix25 is based on the platform of the Kia Soul, which is made in China by the Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia joint venture.

At launch there will be only one engine available; a 2.0 liter four-cylinder petrol with 160hp, mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. Later on a 1.6 liter four-cylinder petrol will be added to the line-up.

Size: 4270mm/1780mm/1630, wheelbase is 2590.
