Geely Auto Group’s new energy vehicle sales double YoY in October 2023

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Geely Auto Group announced on Thursday that its total sales volume reached 180,706 units in October 2023, representing a year-on-year growth of about 19% and a month-on-month increase of over 6%.

Notably, its monthly new energy vehicle (NEV) sales hit a new high of 62,086 units in October, nearly doubling over the previous year and jumping 16% over the previous month. The share of NEVs in the group's total October sales amounted to 34.4%.

Of the NEVs sold last month, 36,579 units were battery electric vehicles (BEVs), indicating a 37% leap from a year earlier, while the other 25,507 vehicles were contributed by the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) segment, displaying a marvelous year-on-year spike of 495%.

For the first ten months of 2023, Geely Auto Group saw its cumulative sales volume jump 17% to 1,335,984 units. Its year-to-date NEV sales leapt 45.1% year over year to 361,980 units.

In addition, the group announced an export volume of 28,591 units for the month of October 2023, soaring 57% over the year-ago period. In the Jan.-Oct. period this year, it exported a total of 222,545 vehicles, reflecting a 39% year-on-year leap.

Breaking down the sales data by specific brands, the Geely brand sold 139,376 vehicles (+16% YoY) last month, 13,711 units were under its Galaxy NEV range. Its Jan.-Oct. sales rose 15% from the prior-year period to 1,048,353 units.

ZEEKR, the group’s premium electric vehicle brand, recorded a monthly sales volume of 13,077 units (+29% YoY) in October, resulting in a year-to-date volume of 92,105 units (+86% YoY).

Besides, LYNK & CO, the brand jointly owned by Geely and Volvo Cars, scored a 50% year-on-year hike in October sales, which stood at 24,707 units. Its cumulative sales in the first ten months totaled 164,500 units, growing 18% over a year ago.

Of the brands of Geely Auto Group, Livan was the only one that faced downward movement. Its sales reached 3,546 units last month, tumbling 39% over the previous year, while its Jan.-Oct. sales also fell 17% year on year to 31,026 units.
