Shanghai (ZXZC)- On Oct. 12, IM Motors, the premium electric vehicle brand co-backed by SAIC Motor, Zhangjiang High-Tech, and Alibaba Group, officially put its third production model, the IM LS6, onto the market. Coming with four trim levels, the new model features a guidance price range of 229,900 yuan to 291,900 yuan.

In addition, the company offers an exclusive promotional price upon the model's market launch, ranging from 214,900 yuan to 276,900 yuan. This includes a 12,000-yuan cash discount and a deduction of 5,000 yuan from the vehicle's total cost based on a 2,000-yuan deposit. These equity prices are available for users who place their orders before November 12, 2023, and complete their payments within the year.

What's more, the model is now available for delivery upon its market launch, and the mass deliveries will begin at the end of this month.

Simultaneously, as the new cars roll out, IM Motor plans to introduce a GPT large model to enhance the quality of intelligent voice interactions.

IM Motors also revealed that its fourth production model will be a sedan, which is set to be launched in the first half of 2024.

The LS6 shares the same mid-to-large SUV category as the LS7, with slightly smaller dimensions. The new model is built on a novel 800V high-voltage platform, with a maximum operation voltage of 875V. It offers the capability to replenish up to 500 kilometers of driving range in just 15 minutes.

Additionally, the LS6 is equipped with a full-sized digital cockpit display, POPO cloud-feel seats, intelligent driving assistance features like City NOA, one-touch AI chauffeur, and a 20-speaker audio system (as standard features across all trims), among others.

IM Motors aims to commence City NOA public testing for the LS6 by the end of 2023, with gradual rollout before the 2024 Chinese New Year holiday. In mid-2024, the City NOA will entera map-free era. According to the plan, within 2024, the City NOA will achieve a commuting mode, covering the 100 key cities nationwide. The automaker emphasizes that the LS6 lineup boasts the capacity for highway and city NOA.

Looking at the vehicle's design, the LS6 maintains IM Motors' iconic design language, featuring highly recognizable L-style headlamps on either side, complemented by bumper vents for added visual appeal. The LS6 offers a selection of seven body colors, including three basic options and four Master Art Car color.

From a side view, the LS6 adopts a coupe-style SUV design with a minimal drag coefficient of 0.237Cd. It measures 4,904mm long, 1,988mm wide, 1,669mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,950mm. Depending on the trim level, it will provide 20-inch or 21-inch wheels.

The rear of the vehicle is striking as well, featuring an upturned ducktail design. The taillights are equally eye-catching.

Inside the cabin, the LS6 continues the family design language and introduces what the official calls the “full-picture” digital cockpit. The operating system is developed based on native Linux and offers features like panoramic blind-spot vision enhancement, rain-night mode, and the GPT large model. Moreover, the LS6 offers a choice between a full-spoke or half-spoke steering wheel.

In terms of intelligent driving assistance, the LS6 enables high-speed NOA (highway autopilot) in 26 cities of 12 provinces right from the delivery. This service is planned to cover the entire country within the year and will expand to offer the City NOA functionality in the future.

As for interior space, the LS6 offers 32 liters of cargo space in the front trunk and up to 1,571 liters in the rear trunk when extended from the standard 596L. There's also a hidden 69-liter storage compartment in the lower part of the rear trunk.

In terms of power, the LS6 comes in both a single-motor rear-wheel drive and a dual-motor all-wheel drive version. The single-motor variant produces a maximum power of 250 kW, with a peak torque of 450 N·m. The dual-motor all-wheel drive model has a combined power of 579 kW and peak torque of 800 N·m. The quasi-500V version achieves 0-100 km/h acceleration in 5.9 seconds with a range of 680 km and 560 km. The quasi-900V version operates at a maximum working voltage of 875V, with a range of 702 km and 760 km, offering a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.48 seconds.
