Here we have a sweet little girl riding a Luyuan electric bicycle, Spotted in China just east of the mighty Fifth Ring Road in Beijing. The girl wears a yellow tank top, so shiny it is almost reflective. On her bike she carries two dirty white dogs who clearly feel very hot, 37 Celsius today. One dirty dog sits in the foot-well, looking ahead, while the other sits in the basket, looking at me.

This type of electric bicycles goes on battery power. When the battery is empty the rider can change to paddling, which will also charge the battery. Not much, but it might be just enough the get home, albeit slowly. The dog in the foot-well however will have to move to the backseat, or receive a serious kicking.
