Ford China begins taking pre-orders for its first full battery electric SUV Territory EV

Starting today, customers can pre-order through authorized Ford dealers or the Ford Tmall official flagship store. Available in two trims, the order price for Territory EV Trend is 199,000 RMB (182,800 RMB after subsidies) and Territory EV Titanium+ is 223,000 RMB (206,800 RMB after subsidies).

360-degree safety ensures peace of mind

Made for young urban families in China in mind, Ford Territory EV is jointly developed by Ford and its joint-venture partner Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC). It delivers up to a 360-kilometer range on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).

Ford Territory EV is designed according to Ford global safety standards, and it has passed all required collision tests, with its superior underbody protection design and internal power battery system design. The power battery system enables immersion in up to 1 m of water for 30 minutes, and the 300 mm wading depth is three times deeper than the national standard. The battery system has passed more than 16 safety tests, ensuring safety under extreme conditions.

With superior thermal stability, power density and circulation performance of the battery, Territory EV can maintain a state of charge (SOC) over 80 percent after 1,800 charging and discharging cycles. In addition, Territory EV utilizes an advanced battery monitoring system (BMS) and the full temperature control liquid cooling system. The HV electrical system of the power battery has passed 200,000 life cycle tests, high-strength mechanical impact tests and
-40 - 85℃ high and low temperature impact tests, ensuring safety during the full life cycle of the power battery system.

The cabin is reinforced with boron steel, which is more than four times stronger than ordinary steel. Six airbags and tubular beam support at each of the four doors guarantees the strength of the body, greatly enhancing safety for drivers and passengers.

Enjoyable and comfortable driving experience

Ford Territory EV reflects Ford's fun-to-drive DNA. The 10-inch full LCD high-resolution digital cluster, independent front and back suspension, and the Ford-designed chassis system, provide an enjoyable and comfortable driving experience.

Thanks to the 2,716 mm wheelbase and 1,936mm body width, the Territory EV has a segment-leading 1,000 mm of rear legroom, providing customers in the second row with a comfortable and spacious experience. The segment-leading NVH performance, all-leather seats, heating with ventilation in the front row, and large panoramic skylight enhance the driving experience.

With high-gloss black paint, carbon fiber texture, perforated surfaces, polished metal and other materials, the well-appointed and futuristic interior design aims to fulfill the needs of Chinese consumers for comfort and fashionable design. The steering wheel, door panels and upper part of the central console are all made of soft-touch materials, while a full LCD high-resolution digital cluster, seven-color LED ambient light and e-shifter accentuate its technological prowess.

Smart technology enriches connectivity experience

Ford Territory EV also offers a 10-inch high definition touchscreen with a new infotainment system powered by iFlytek, offering industry-leading natural Mandarin language recognition with a 98 percent accuracy rate, allowing Territory EV drivers and passengers to activate functions such as navigation, entertainment, skylight, windows, air conditioning and seat heating using natural voice commands. Other “life in car” services also can be accessed, such as searching for restaurants, movie theaters and hotels as well as checking flight and train information.

Territory EV features a suite of smart technologies developed specifically for Chinese consumers as well as smart driver-assist technologies like Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Smart High Beam Control and Traffic Sign Recognition, bringing a safe and worry-free driving experience for its drivers and passengers.

Multiple solutions for an effortless ownership experience

Territory EV owners will receive a smart charging pile and free installation service. Using the FordPass App on a mobile phone, owners can locate the Territory EV, remote start/stop, remotely control the air conditioning, check remaining range, find nearby charging spots and remotely view and control the charging status.

FordPass will connect with 150,000 public charging spots in over 300 cities across China, and charging stations connected with FordPass will be available within 3 km in any major city. FordPass provides a “Use First and Pay Later” charging experience – a first in the industry. The vehicle can be fully charged overnight at home, and in quick charge mode, the battery can be recharged from 30 to 80 percent in only 33 minutes and achieve 60 km of mileage after a 10-minute quick charge.

Ford will also offer Territory EV owners convenient charging solutions in selected cities in China, including unlimited charging services and valet charging.

The Territory EV is the company's first new energy vehicle introduced since it announced its Ford China 2.0 transformation blueprint in April.
