Geely Holding, Tianqi Lithium forge partnership in fields related to lithium battery
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On September 13th, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group ("Geely Holding") and Tianqi Lithium jointly announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement. This partnership, built on leveraging each other's strengths, aims to explore fresh avenues of growth, fostering innovation and advancement within the realm of new energy vehicles.

Under the terms of this agreement, both parties will collaborate extensively across various domains, including upstream resources, core materials, lithium battery technology research, lightweight materials for new energy vehicles, and software technology development. Together, they seek to propel R&D and innovation in the lithium battery materials sector and vertically integrate the industry chain, expediting the transformation and upgrading of the new energy vehicle sector.
Geely Holdings said it is dedicated to becoming a globally competitive and influential technology company in the fields of intelligent electric mobility and energy services. The company has consistently invested in and explored cutting-edge technologies such as new energy vehicle-related technologies, human-machine interaction, intelligent driving, in-vehicle chips, and low-orbit satellites. In 2022, Geely Holding achieved a total sales volume of over 2.3 million vehicles, which represented a penetration rate of 28%. In the first half of 2023, the group surpassed sales of 390,000 new energy vehicles, with a penetration rate of approximately 32%.
