As of September 15th, the year 2023 has witnessed the addition of 500 new battery swap stations, propelling the "Thousand Stations Plan" past its halfway mark. The immediate plan is to intensify expansion efforts and expedite the completion of this ambitious undertaking.
NIO users have so far collectively swapped batteries over a staggering 28 million times by September 15, translating to an average of 60,000 swaps per day. To put it in perspective, a NIO vehicle leaves a battery swap station fully charged every 1.44 seconds.
NIO has already established 511 battery swap stations nationwide along expressways, forging a comprehensive network that interconnects six north-south and four east-west expressways, and eight city clusters.
Beyond providing on-demand charging solutions, NIO's battery swap station deployment also supports battery upgrades. To date, NIO has facilitated over 100,000 battery upgrades. Starting in July, NIO introduced flexible battery upgrade options on a daily rental basis, enabling users to tailor their upgrade experiences based on their needs.
As of September 15th, NIO has also established a total of 3,096 charging stations nationwide with 18,193 charging piles, and had access to over 870,000 third-party charging piles.
