Spy Shots: Beijing Auto C51X SUV is testing in China again
New spy shots of the upcoming Beijing Auto C51X SUV testing in China. Design of the grille seems finally finalized but Beijing Auto is still working on the headlights. The C51X was expected to debut on the 2014 Beijing Auto Show but didn’t show, not even in concept form. Debut is now expected for the Chengdu Auto Show in September.
The C51X will be powered by a 1.5 liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, good for 163hp and 225nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT. A 2.0 turbo with about 180hp is on the table as well, but whether it will make it to the market is yet unsure. Drive train: FWD or optional AWD.
The Beijing Auto C51X will compete with cars such as the FAW-Besturn X80 and the Haval H6. Price will start around 120.000 yuan and end around 180.000 yuan.
Everything seems ready here. Tires very small again, a typical trick by Chinese automakers to lower fuel consumption.
