The significant feat by CARQ, a player in the field of energy storage batteries, underpins CATL's commitment to eco-friendly progress. It is the second battery zero-carbon factory wholly-owned by CATL, following the success of the Yibin factory in Sichuan province.

Nestled in Zhaoqing city, Guangdong province, CARQ represents one of CATL's thirteen major production bases, with its production commenced in May 2022. Embracing the tenets of green, low-carbon, and sustainability, CARQ has proactively embraced the China’s "dual-carbon" strategy. By transitioning its energy structure, adopting distributed photovoltaic power generation, utilizing green energy sources, and offsetting carbon emissions, the company has efficiently reduced its carbon footprint. Additionally, its infusion of digital and intelligent technologies into energy-saving initiatives, coupled with real-time monitoring, calculation, adjustment of equipment operations, has mitigated unnecessary energy consumption throughout the production cycle.

On April 18 this year,  CATL unveiled its ambitious "Zero Carbon Strategy," aiming to achieve core operational carbon neutrality by 2025 and carbon neutrality across its value chain by 2035.
