Recently, spy photos of the production version of the BYD Song L conducting high-temperature tests in Turpan have been exposed. The mass-produced model closely resembles the concept car showcased at the Auto Shanghai 2023.
Positioned as a fire new high-end B-segment all-electric SUV under BYD, the Song L adopts the brand's new "Vanguard Dragon Face Aesthetics" design language. The concept car features a coupe-style design, with a sporty crossover SUV stance. The side profile of the vehicle boasts sharp lines, 3D dragon whisker-styled headlights, complemented by carbon fiber material sporty trim.
The new model draws inspiration from traditional Chinese knots for its taillight design and comes equipped with an electrically adjustable rear wing. The electric rear wing and frameless doors make their debut on a BYD model, enhancing the sporty appeal.
Notably, the concept car showcased at the Auto Shanghai features electronic rearview mirrors, while the teaser image shows traditional rearview mirrors, suggesting the production version might offer both options.
The Song L’s production model is based on the e-platform 3.0 and will feature cutting-edge technologies such as CTB (cell-to-body), intelligent electric four-wheel drive, and the DiSus system.
