Spy Shots: Lifan 820 sedan is completely Naked in China
The very best Spy Shots of the upcoming Lifan 820 sedan, seen completely naked outside the Lifan factory in China. The Lifan 820 was expected to debut on last month’s Guangzhou Auto Show but didn’t show. Debut is now expected for the Beijing Auto Show in April next year with a launch on the China car market in the second half of next year.
The Lifan 820 will be positioned above the Lifan 720 and will enter into a new market segment for the Lifan brand. At launch the Lifan 820 will only be available with a 1.8 liter four cylinder with about 130hp. Later on a 160hp 2.0 will join the line. The 1.8 will be mated to a 5-speed manual. Price will start around 80.000 yuan and ends around 100.000 yuan, making this 820 the most expensive Lifan ever.
The Lifan 820 is a fine looking car, quality seems all right for the money and the engines are just strong enough. Could be seller but competition in the 80-120 sedan segment is murderous and Lifan isn’t very strong in the big cities. Still, the 820 will certainly help Lifan to grow from a small Chinese automaker to a slightly bigger Chinese automaker.
Subtle wing on the boot lid for subtle-sporty. Exhaust pipe not perfectly integrated with rest of rear.
