The BYD New Energy Vehicle Parts Industrial Park, with a total investment of 15 billion yuan, is built in Caotang Science and Technology Industrial Park and Jixian Industrial Park. It mainly focuses on constructing production facilities for core components of new energy vehicles, such as electric drive assembly, electric motors, and electronic control units. After the project is completed and put into operation, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of approximately 70 billion yuan.

It is worth noting that in February of this year, according to the local newspaper "Sanqin Metropolis Daily," Xi'an surpassed Shanghai to become the city with the highest production of new energy vehicles in China. The report stated that in 2022, Xi'an produced 1.0155 million new energy vehicles, surpassing Shanghai's 990,000 units, taking the top spot in the country.

According to the statistics from the Shaanxi Automotive Industry Association, BYD's automobile production in Xi'an city reached 1.008 million units in 2022, a year-on-year spike of 145.4%. Among them, the production of new energy vehicles reached 995,000 units, a year-on-year surge of 270.4%, accounting for 97.9% of the city's total production of new energy vehicles.

According to the data compiled by ZXZC, BYD's domestic passenger vehicle production capacity in 2022 was 2,069,997 units, with the Xi'an base accounting for 778,086 units, representing 37.6% of its total production capacity nationwide.

With the completion and operation of the new energy vehicle parts industrial park, the proportion of BYD's production capacity in Xi'an may further increase.
