Geely Galaxy L6 included in catalogue by China’s MIIT

Shanghai (ZXZC)- The patent images of the Geely Galaxy L6 model appeared in the latest declaration catalogue from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology ("MIIT").

Positioned as a compact sedan, the new car will be equipped with Geely's new-generation NordThor dedicated plug-in hybrid system, and is planned to be launched and delivered in the third quarter of this year. Some industry insiders speculated that the expected price of the Galaxy L6 would be around 110,000 yuan.

In terms of exterior appearance, the Galaxy L6 adopts the closed-off front face commonly used in new energy vehicles, along with split-type headlights, significantly enhancing the car's recognition. At the same time, the brand-new logo design also enhances the vehicle's sense of fashion.

The Geely Galaxy L6 features a sleek coupe-like design and is equipped with hidden door handles. The rear of the car still retains the through-type taillight design.

In terms of body size, the Galaxy L6 measures 4,782mm in length, 1,875mm in width, and 1,489mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,752mm. It adopts a unibody structure and is equipped with 215/55R17 or 235/45R18 tires.

Optional accessories include non-through-type lights, rear emblem, welcome light carpet, sunroof, panorama roof, and different styles of wheel covers.

As for the powertrain, the new car will carry Geely's new-generation NordThor dedicated plug-in hybrid system, which consists of the NordThor 1.5T four-cylinder hybrid engine (model BHE15-BFZ) and the P1+P2 dual motors. The engine is good for a maximum power of 120kW. The vehicle can run at a top speed of 235km/h and feature a combined range of over 1,000km. Additionally, it is likely to be installed with a 3-speed DHT Pro transmission, which has been applied on the Galaxy L7, the first production model of the Galaxy series.

On Feb. 23 this year, Geely Auto Group officially launched a new high-end electrified product series, namely, the aforesaid Geely Galaxy at a flagship event in Hangzhou. The first car from the Geely Galaxy range, the Galaxy L7 long-range PHEV SUV was unveiled along with a fully electric concept model, the “Galaxy Light.”

The Galaxy L7s were delivered to its first car owners earlier this month. The model competes head-on with the BYD Song PLUS DM-i.
