China’s COSMX to supply Hankook with lithium-ion battery cells
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Zhuhai CosMX Battery Co., Ltd. ("COSMX"), a Chinese major supplier of Li-ion batteries, recently inked a strategic partnership agreement with South Korea's Hankook Group in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, setting the stage for a new era of collaboration, COSMX announced on June 14 via its WeChat account.

Under the agreement, COSMX plans to provide Hankook with low-voltage start-stop high-power lithium-ion battery cells, promising a leap forward in the energy storage industry.
Before the agreement was inked, multiple rounds of testing and validation of the battery cell samples were conducted. Hankook recognized the high quality and consistency of COSMX's high-power battery cells, indicating that this collaboration could actively drive the industrial layout of its integrated start-stop battery business. This strategic collaboration serves as a golden opportunity for COSMX to fully exploit Hankook's resources and channels to expand its market presence.
Subsequently, this partnership is expected to enhance COSMX's brand influence and competitiveness in the field of automotive low-voltage lithium batteries.
Hankook Group, founded in 1941, is a globally recognized South Korean automotive parts enterprise, specializing in the production of tires and start-stop batteries. Since its entry into China in 1996, Hankook has established two major production bases in Huai'an, Jiangsu province, and Jiaxing, Zhejiang province. It provides tires for passenger cars, light trucks (including SUVs, RVs, etc.), trucks, buses, and dedicated racing vehicles.The company supplies to more than 30 car manufacturers including prestigious names like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Beijing Hyundai, and FAW-Volkswagen.
