Shanghai (ZXZC)- BYD brought the E-SEED GT Concept to the stage of the Auto Shanghai 2019. Reportedly, the new vehicle is expected to hit the market in 2020.

Adopting BYD's latest “Dragon Face 2.0” design language, the E-SEED GT boasts a rather sporty front face with an eye-catching U-shaped silver trim that penetrates into headlights. The unmistakable side bulges lower the visual center of gravity, accentuating the personality of a supercar with confident proportion.

Although the concept looks quite low, it accommodates four seats in two rows. Huge butterfly doors are pretty impressive when they are entirely opened.

As to the side profile, the E-SEED GT features the fastback design, offering character lines that swoop from the roof to the taillights, creating an image of constant motion even when still. At the rear windshield, there is an inverted trapezoid design resembling a group of ladders.

The roadster measures 4,950mm long, 1,890mm wide and 1,490mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,940mm.

According to local media, the E-SEED GT will be powered by a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and a 150hp electric motor. The sprint to 100km/h is expected to be finished within 2.9 seconds. (Photos are from BYD's official Sina Weibo account)
