Chairman of startup BYTON joins NEV maker ICONIQ
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Dr. Carsten Breitfeld, former Chairman and Co-founder of EV startup BYTON, has joined ICONIQ Motors, a Tianjin-based new energy vehicle maker, according to his own confirmation delivered at the Auto Shanghai 2019.

On January 29, 2019, BYTON announced that the company would separate the roles and responsibilities of Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with Dr. Carsten Breitfeld named as the Chairman and Dr. Daniel Kirchert appointed as the company's CEO.
Under the new structure, the Chaiman of the Board will focus on coordinating shareholder relations to support business development, leading on mid-term business strategy planning, formulating product strategy, and running the board and shareholder meeting. Meanwhile, the CEO would focus on driving daily business operations and is responsible for executing decisions agreed by the board.
The startup said powered by the supports from company's shareholders and local government of Nanjing, its product design, R&D and plant construction are proceeding very smoothly, which will ensure the high-quality mass production of its first all-electric SUV, the M-Byte, this year. The executive adjustment will benefit corporate governance and the stable growth for next stage.
Regarding the successor of Dr. Carsten Breitfeld, the startup said the change of Chairman should be executed by the board of directors based on relevant procedures.
