BYD-backed DENZA demonstrates iADC intelligent drifting control system

Shanghai (ZXZC)- DENZA, the premium auto brand majority-owned by BYD, earlier this week released a drifting video of the DENZA N7 SUV as the approach where the iADC (intelligent Adaptive Drift Control) system made its world’s debut.

Car drifting is essentially a "glorious loss of control," requiring professional driving skills to precisely control the torque and lift the car into a drift, said DENZA. The iADC system, which is installed onto the DENZA N7 first, achieves intelligent distribution of front and rear axle torque through real-time integration control of suspension damping, height, drive torque, and braking torque. Using the system, the driver does not need to have absolute precise power control, but just need to step on the accelerator and promptly counter-steer to maintain the posture, enabling continuous drifting, according to DENZA’s introduction.

In addition, the iADC system sets the drifting action into 10 adjustable levels based on the vehicle's posture angle, including "Novice Mode," "Player Mode," and "Master Mode," providing phased intelligent assistance to users for drifting, making drifting operations simpler and lowering the user's threshold of experience, the automaker added. If drifting goes out of control, the system will also coordinate with ESP to stabilize the vehicle and limit torque, ensuring the stability of the vehicle in extreme conditions and safeguarding driving safety while experiencing the joy of drifting.

Moreover, the DENZA N7's Super Sense interactive intelligent cockpit will also synchronize with the in-car ambiance to further enhance the joy of drifting. When the iADC intelligent drifting control system is activated with a single click, the vehicle's height automatically lowers, and the HUD, instrument cluster, and central control display inside the car will simultaneously show real-time vehicle parameters, creating an immersive drifting driving atmosphere. This allows for the visualization of dynamic vehicle parameters and quantifiable dynamic analysis, as well as recording and analysis capabilities, further enhancing the driving enjoyment of the DENZA N7.
