Former Borgward’s CEO Yang Song joins Ford China as President of NDSD

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Ford China announced on April 8 that Yang Song, former CEO of Borgward Group AG, officially joins Ford China’s leadership team as President of National Distribution Service Division (NDSD), effective immediately.

Ford said the 45-year-old new executive will lead the NDSD team to promote sales, build brand image, optimize the customer experience as well as enhance the execution of new vehicle product roll-out and dealers' profitability.

Joseph Liu, former acting president of Ford's NDSD, will remain a member of Ford China’s leadership team and will take a new position based on a future announcement. Meanwhile, Mr. Liu will assist Yang Song with the management over the NDSD during a certain period.

Mr. Yang boasts 25 years of experience in marketing and sales in China and the U.S. Before joining Ford Motor, he had assumed positions of CEO of Borgward Group AG. From 2005 to 2015, he held several key leadership roles in marketing and sales at Dongfeng Nissan and Nissan U.S.

On April 3, Ford Motor announced its new “Ford China 2.0” transformation blueprint that comprises five key plans and four centers of competence to speed up the redesign of its business and sharpen its focus on the Chinese market. The five key plans will focus on: accelerating product development and delivery, developing smart technology, deepening strategic partnerships, driving innovation and developing local talent. The four centers of competence are dedicated to: product, design, innovation and new energy vehicles.
