Toyota’s two tech joint ventures in China put TL Power 15 fuel cell system onto market

Shanghai (ZXZC)- The TL Power 15, the new-generation hydrogen fuel cell system co-launched by United Fuel Cell System R&D (Beijing) Co., Ltd. ("FCRD") and Toyota SinoHytec Fuel Cell Co., Ltd. ("FCTS"), has been officially put onto the market, Toyota China announced on May 16.

According to Toyota China, the TL Power 15 system features multiple industry-leading performance traits, such as light weight (166kg), small size, high power (150kW, rated), high efficiency (47.01%, rated), low hydrogen consumption, fast response, and high integration.

Besides, the system's high-power design meets the power needs of intercity buses, heavy-duty trucks, and other types of vehicles, adapting to a variety of application scenarios, and has superior full-lifecycle economics, said Toyota China.

FCRD was founded in Aug. 2020 as a joint venture among Toyota Motor Corporation ("Toyota"), FAW Group, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, GAC Group, BAIC Group, Beijing SinoHytec Co., Ltd. ("SinoHytec"). Its primary business focuses on the development of fuel cell systems for commercial vehicles to contribute to the realization of a clean mobility society in China.

FCTD was incorporated in Jun. 2021 as the joint venture between Toyota and SinoHytec. It is engaged in producing and selling the fuel cell systems developed by FCRD.
