Shanghai (ZXZC)- BYD and its Costa Rican distributor Cori Motors recently introduced two models from BYD’s Ocean Series, namely, the BYD Dolphin and the BYD Seal, along with four other models at the EXPOMOVIL 2023 in Costa Rica, according to a post on BYD’s WeChat account.

The debut of BYD’s Ocean Series models vitalized local electric vehicle market of Costa Rica, said BYD. Both the Dolphin and the Seal feature a design language inspired by ocean aesthetics. The five-seater Seal sedan caught the eye of many viewers with its sophisticated and sleek design, and it is also the first model to adopt BYD’s CTB technology. The full-electric Dolphin compact hatchback features a futuristic design with a unique stance.

The other four models BYD displayed at the show included the Han EV, the Tang EV, the Yuan Pro, and the Yuan PLUS.

Notably, the BYD Yuan Pro (locally known as S1 Pro) SUV is the best-selling electric vehicle ever in Costa Rica, ranking sixth in terms of total units sold across the Costa Rican auto market (including oil-fueled vehicles).

Since its entry into Costa Rica, BYD has to-day sold over 2,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in local market. By the end of 2022, it had been honored the No.1 NEV seller in the country for three years in a row.
