Infiniti joins price cut movement in response to China’s VAT drop
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Infiniti recently released its price cut announcement for China's market in response to the government's VAT drop policy for manufacturing industry.
The announcement shows that the official guide price of the Q50L 2.0T Luxury Sport has been reduced to RMB389,800, a drop of RMB10,000 over the original price. The QX50 four-wheel-drive flagship version will be sold at RMB469,800 with a decrease of RMB20,000. Meanwhile, the prices of the Q70L Luxury PLUS and the Q60S Luxury Sport have been cut by RMB10,000 and RMB8,000.
Prior to Infiniti's statement, six premium automakers, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo, Lincoln and Audi have decided to lower the retail prices on models sold in China.
According to relevant reports, Inifiti is ready to pull out of Western Europe by 2020 as part of a restructuring plan that focuses on development in China and North America. To strengthen presence in China, it will introduce five new models in the world’s largest market over the next five years.
Besides, the Japanese premium car brand will continue to electrify its product lineup. It has previously said that most new vehicles introduced after 2021 will be electrified and diesel-powered vehicle will be discontinued.
