BYD gains 97.45% year-on-year surge in Mar. 2023 auto sales
Shanghai (ZXZC)- BYD Company Limited (“BYD”) scored a 97.45% year-on-year surge in its Mar. 2023 auto sales, which came in at 207,080 units, according to the sale results the company issued on Apr. 2.
Compared to the previous month, BYD’s Mar. sales still climbed 6.93%.
The vehicles sold last month were all new energy vehicles (NEVs), including 206,089 passenger vehicles (“PVs”) and 991 commercial vehicles (“CVs”).
In the PV sector, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) accounted for 49.8% of BYD’s total PV sales in Mar., representing a 91.31% year-on-year spike.
Of the PVs sold in Mar., 13,312 units were exported to overseas markets.

The BYD Dynasty and Ocean series recorded a combined sales volume of 195,691 vehicles in Mar., which zoomed up 87.6% over a year earlier. Meanwhile, the DENZA brand sold 10,398 vehicles to gain a 42% month-on-month leap.
For the first three months of this year, the company sold a total of 552,076 vehicles, indicating an 89.47% spike from a year ago.
