Changan Ford ambitious to roll out over 50 new models by 2025
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Changan Ford plans to roll out more than 50 new models in China by the end of 2025, including 8 all-new SUV models and at least 15 Ford- and Lincoln-branded EV models, the joint venture revealed on March 12 at a dealer conference. In 2019, there are 4 new models to be launched there.
“To comprehensively improve Changan Ford's product competency, all new models locally produced and sold in China will be outfitted with the in-car Internet access by the end of 2019,” said Chen Anning, president and CEO of Ford China.
Chen also stated that Ford China’s National Distribution Services Division will join hands with dealers to transform the sale management route from the wholesale-pushed mode to the retail sale-driven mode. Besides, both parties will jointly plan the business target and the production schedule should be arranged based on orders to help dealers revive their capital flow as soon as possible.
Moreover, the automaker is ready to simplify the product lineup and elevate vehicles' cost performance to make dealers strengthen their profitability.
Changan Ford's new engineering development center will be put into operation this year, enabling the joint venture to complete 90% of validation testing procedures before a new model is put into mass production, including the body structure, NVH (noise vibration and harshness), powertrain, emission system as well as NEV battery and motors.
