Shanghai (ZXZC)- BYD recently released a set of design renderings of a new battery electric vehicle (BEV) model from its Ocean series, dubbed BYD Seagull, which mainly targets young consumers.

Reportedly, the BYD Seagull would feature a price range of 80,000 yuan to 100,000 yuan.

According to the images, the Seagull is built on the "ocean aesthetics" design concept, but the overall style is more inclined towards a sporty look compared to other models like the Dolphin. Its body lines are sharper and incorporate elements of cyberpunk. The slant light strips in the headlights resemble the marks left by ice skates on ice. The grille is shaped like a seagull spreading its wings to fly.

The side of the vehicle resembles a seagull's wingspan, with a dark decorative strip slightly lifted at the skirt line, and the floating roof also delivers a posture of a seagull in flight.

Riding on the e-platform 3.0, the model has a wheelbase that spans 2,500mm and features a wheelbase-length ratio of 66.1%.

The rear also adopts a “wing” design element that echoes the front. Its through-type taillights are quite unmistakable.

Powering the vehicle will be a permanent magnet synchronous motor that pumps out 55kW.
