Geely Holding boasts 29% YoY jump in Apr. sales

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Zhejiang Geely Holding Group ("Geely Holding") announced on Thursday that its automobile sales volume reached around 247,300 units in the fourth month of 2024, jumping 29% year on year (YoY).

Of the vehicles the group sold last month, 99,200 units were contributed by new energy vehicles (NEVs), representing a YoY surge of 52% and accounting for 40% of Geely Holding's overall auto sales.

For the first four months of 2024, Geely Holding recorded a cumulative sales volume of 986,000 vehicles, registering a 28% rise over a year earlier.

Geely Holding encompasses key automotive entities such as Geely Auto Group, Volvo Cars, PROTON, Lynk & Co, Lotus Cars, Polestar, LEVC (London EV Company), smart, RADAR, and Farizon Auto.

Geely Auto Group, comprising Geely, Lynk & Co, ZEEKR, and Livan Auto brands, reported a sales volume of 153,267 units for the month of April 2024, witnessing a 39% YoY leap. In the month, its new energy vehicle sales amounted to 51,428 units, surging 75% from a year earlier. Meanwhile, its monthly export volume soared 75% from a year earlier to 38,151 units.

Breaking down the performance of individual brands within Geely Auto Group, Geely brand's sales reached 118,451 units in April, showing an upward movement of 35% over the previous year. Lynk & Co achieved a monthly sales figure of 18,727 units, which zoomed up 34% year over year. Notably, ZEEKR demonstrated a remarkable YoY spike of 99%, with a total delivery volume of 16,089 units in the month.

In addition, Volvo Cars, part of the Geely Holding Group, recorded a global sales volume of 65,838 units (+27% YoY) in April. Notably, the carmaker's year-to-date NEV sales stood at 106,518 units, reflecting a 21% YoY growth.
