Shanghai (ZXZC)- On May 10th, a strategic cooperation framework agreement was signed between Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group ("Farizon Auto"), a subsidiary of Geely Holding Group focusing on commercial vehicle segment, and the municipal government of Shenyang city, Liaoning province. This agreement facilitates a collaborative effort to pool innovative resources and leverage distinct strengths, aiming to establish a long-term strategic partnership that promotes new energy and methanol-hydrogen electric vehicles, with a specific focus on building a methanol-hydrogen ecosystem.

Situated as a major industrial base and a central city in Northeast China, Shenyang possesses a robust industrial foundation and strategic geographical advantages. The partnership aims to leverage Shenyang's core economic positioning and its comprehensive industrial system, coupled with Farizon's technological expertise in green, low-carbon transportation. This initiative is intended to enhance the industrial ecosystem and foster the development of a complete vehicle and components industry. Additionally, the local application of methanol-hydrogen electric vehicles is expected to serve as a regional exemplar.

Furthermore, the partners have committed to jointly establishing a methanol-hydrogen ecosystem, capitalizing on existing industrial strengths and aligning with a national energy strategy termed "Wind-Solar-Hydrogen-Ammonia-Methanol." Plans include developing a full industry chain from methanol production to refueling and application, and exploring the establishment of a green intelligent transportation service platform. This will encompass customized vehicle production, comprehensive transportation system solutions, and the development of supporting infrastructure. Such efforts are poised to accelerate the transformation towards green, low-carbon transportation in Shenyang, positioning it as a model city.

With its strategic methanol-hydrogen electric technology, Farizon Auto demonstrates significant advancements in environmental sustainability, cost-effectiveness, adaptability, and reliability. Its methanol-hydrogen trucks, which offer fuel cost reductions of 18%-32% compared to traditional diesel heavy-duty trucks—saving up to 1 yuan per kilometer—are particularly well-suited for operation in the cold northern winters. The company also promotes an integrated development approach, encompassing green methanol production, methanol refueling, and methanol-electric vehicles, thus creating a comprehensive green methanol transport capacity ecosystem.
