Gotion High-tech, Edison Power team up on energy storage, battery recycling businesses in Japan

Shanghai (ZXZC)- The Chinese power battery supplier Gotion High-tech and the Japanese renewable energy solutions provider Edison Power Co., Ltd. (“Edison Power”) on Mar. 15 inked a strategic cooperation agreement under which the duo will co-develop the energy storage battery and recycling market in Japan, popularize renewable energy, and introduce Gotion's batteries into the Japanese market, according to a post on Gotion High-tech’s WeChat account.

Under the agreement, during the cooperation period, the two companies will develop market strategies based on market demands. Their annual sales target for the first year is set to be 1GWh, which will be raised to 2GWh per year from the second year onwards.

In this partnership, Gotion High-tech will provide Edison Power with cells, modules, BMS, etc., while the Japanese company will be accountable for customer management, EPC services, energy storage system operation and maintenance, and other market-side services.

Gotion High-tech said its battery recycling system has basically taken shape, which ranges from the possession of raw material mines for LFP batteries to the recycling system after disposal. Thus, as a responsible international enterprise, Gotion High-tech will join hands with Edison Power to establish a circular storage battery recycling system in Japan.

Edison Power began the development and manufacturing of energy storage battery system in 1991. In addition, the company is also working on developing a solar power generation business, a biomass power generation business, a bark pellet production business, and a solar sharing business.
