Shanghai (ZXZC)- On Mar 6, FAW-Toyota officially kicked off the presale of the Toyota bZ3 with its price range unveiled at the same time.

The bZ3 is the Toyota bZ family’s second production model and also the first sedan model specifically designed for the Chinese market. Coming with three trim levels, it features a price range of 169,800 yuan to 199,800 yuan ($24,490-$28,810).

With dimensions of 4,725 mm long, 1,835 mm wide, 1,475 mm tall, and a wheelbase of 2,880 mm, the bZ3 plays in the league of medium-sized sedans.

With the bZ series’ family design traits, the bZ3 dispenses with a traditional front grille, with the entire front featuring multiple sharp lines. The L-shaped headlights on both sides are linked by an LED light strip.

AS for the side profile, the bZ3's body features sculpted lines that give the car a sense of motion even when it's stationary. It has a low, aerodynamic roofline that slopes gently toward the rear. The side windows are also angled, accentuating the car's forward momentum. The door handles can automatically retract inward, which is very interesting. The fast and slow charging ports are located at the rear left of the vehicle, making it more convenient for reverse parking and charging.

At the rear, the vehicle’s taillights feature a through-style design, forming a Y-shaped fork on both sides. The compact trunk is inspired by the design of a hatchback, and the entire rear bumper is made of black plastic materials, which can to some extent alleviate the maintenance costs incurred from scratches.

Regarding the interior, the cockpit adopts abundant silvery decorative trims. The flat bottomed steering wheel maintains the iconic design of the bZ family. The 12.3-inch floating screen at the center console is quite eye-catching. This display enables simultaneous running of multiple Apps, and supports voice control, wireless charging, panoramic camera view, car connectivity, and many other functions.

Riding on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform, the bZ3 is driven by an electric motor at the rear axle, which comes with two maximum output options, 135kW and 180kW. Powering the vehicle is a LFP battery pack, which offers a CLTC-rated range of 517km for the entry-level version and up to 615km for the top-spec one, respectively. Notably, both the electric motor and battery pack are supplied by BYD’s FinDreams.
