XPeng faces YoY, MoM plunge in Jan. 2023 deliveries as result of seasonal slowdown

Shanghai (ZXZC)- XPeng, a Guangzhou-based Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, delivered 5,218 vehicles in Jan. 2023, according to the company’s announcement, tumbling 59.62% and 53.79% from the previous year and the previous month, respectively.

Of the vehicles delivered last month, 2,249 units were the flagship G9 SUVs.

Vehicle deliveries for the month of Jan. reflected the seasonal slowdown during the Chinese New Year holiday period which began in mid-January, said the EV startup.

The company this week announced a major personnel appointment. Ms. Fengying Wang, former Vice Chairman and General Manager of Great Wall Motor, has been named as the President of XPeng with effect from January 30, 2023.

Ms. Wang will be responsible for XPeng’s product planning, product portfolio management, and sales operations, reporting to Mr. He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of the company.

“We look forward to working with Ms. Wang to further elevate our product portfolio, leveraging her distinguished experience and deep industry knowledge to accelerate the smart EV transition,” said Mr. He.
