Spy Shots: new China-only Hyundai sedan seen testing
New spy shots of the upcoming new Hyundai sedan designed especially for the Chinese market, it will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show later this month. The new yet-nameless car will fit between the Hyundai Elantra Langdong and the Hyundai Sonata, price will range from 140.000 yuan to 180.000 yuan. The new sedan will be made in China by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture.
Power will come from 1.8 and 2.0 four-cylinders, mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. The new sedan will compete with fine cars such as theVolkswagen Sagitar and the Citroen C4L, relatively small sedans with a premium look & feel. This market segment is growing fast in China, more entrants are expected to join the battle soon. Development costs are relatively low because all car makers use existing platforms to base their new weapons on.
One car with a big sunroof, likely a more luxurious variant.
First reasonable pictures from the rear. Rather large light units. Double exhaust pipe very sporty.
