Beijing (ZXZC)- SERES Auto, Chinese ICT giant Huawei’s first official automaking partner, saw its monthly auto registrations reach 10,945 vehicles in the final month of 2022, down 2% month-over-month, according to the data compiled by ZXZC Auto Research Institute (GARI).

Owning two auto brands, namely, SERES and AITO, SERES Auto is affiliated to SERES Group, which was formerly known as Chongqing Sokon Industry Group. The two auto brands all have Huawei as their partner.  

In December 2022, a total of 16 SERES SF5s were registered across China. Among cities in China, Chongqing, the homebase of SERES Auto saw the most SF5s registered (9 units) in the past month. Meanwhile, Shanghai and Shenzhen both registered 2 SF5s, while Lanzhou, Changsha, and Zhengzhou all had 1 SF5 newly registered last month, respectively. 

With regard to the registration performance of the AITO brand, the AITO M5 (REEV version) recorded a monthly registration volume of 4,014 vehicles in December 2022, climbing up 8.43% over a month ago. Shanghai registered the most M5s at 394 units. As to the pure-electric variant of the M5, the M5 EV, a 24.5% month-over-month slip challenged the model’s December registrations. There were four cities whose M5 EV registrations surpassed 100 units, namely Shanghai (237 units), Hangzhou (134 units), Beijing (113 units), and Suzhou (102 units). 

As to AITO’s latest and hotter-selling model, the M7, a 6.66% month-on-month growth was shown in the model’s December registration volume, which came in at 4,438 units. With 501 M7s registered, Shanghai was crowned the top 1 city regarding M7 registrations in the month, which were doubled from that of the runner-up city, Shenzhen. 

In terms of monthly registrations of the AITO brand alone, a total of 10,929 vehicles were registered across China in December 2022. Among the 254 cities AITO vehicles were registered in during the past month, Shanghai maintained its leading position, with an impressive registration volume of 1,132 vehicles.
