Geely Auto Group aims to double NEV sales YoY in 2023

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Geely Auto Group ("Geely Auto"), based in east China's Hangzhou city, expects its annual sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) to double year on year to exceed 600,000 units in 2023, according to a post on Geely Auto's WeChat account.

Meanwhile, the auto group also anticipated a 100% year-on-year surge in the full-year sales of both the vehicles equipped with Geely’s Leishen hybrid technology and the cars under the premium battery electric vehicle (BEV) brand ZEEKR.

Geely Auto aims to sell 1.65 million vehicles through 2023, according to the sales data released by Geely Automobile Holdings Limited in early Jan. It means that the automaker expects NEVs to account for up to 36% of its overall automobile sales this year.

Geely Auto scored a year-on-year growth of 8% in its 2022 auto sales, which stood at 1,432,988 units. Notably, its yearly sales of NEVs (referring to full-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles under the brands of Geely, Geometry, Lynk & Co, ZEEKR, and Livan) came in at 328,727 units last year, zooming up 300% from the year-ago period.

Moreover, Geely Auto also sold 25,744 hybrid electric vehicles in 2022, which skyrocketed 3,948% over a year ago.
